November 18, 2017: It’s the Annual Canine Christmas Festival and Adopt-A-Thon 2017! Canine Christmas is a fun festival for dog owners & their dogs and those looking to adopt a dog. Bring your well-behaved dogs on a leash and enjoy the festival events (dogs must have current inoculation tag). Keep Calm, There’s An App For That!

Sarasota County, Venice and North Port, Fl. can now connect with a downloaded free “App” called “SeeClickFix” that allows residents and visitors through the GPS on their phones to connect to the County’s social platforms and report non-emergency issues so that County staffers can easily locate issues such as potholes, to non-functioning traffic lights. Users can download pictures and videos to share with staffers and map a “watch area” so that the user can be updated as to the resolution of the issue or to just receive updates in the area of interest.
The dedicated North Port App can be downloaded from Android or IPhone by searching “North RePort” or www.CityofNorthPort.com/online-services/NorthRePort.

Well the weather here in South West Florida is really not forecast’ed to be too bad: Saturday, partly cloudy & Sunday, sunny with both days in the 60’s. So very glad not to be in the North East!

A perfect weekend to wander about in South West Florida. Here are a couple of things you might like to check out:

1. Venice: 9th Annual Downtown Venice Craft Festival (Admission/Free)
I go every year. It is a juried show. True artisans from around the country converge on Miami Ave & beyond to entice you with their works of art. You will find the offerings will range from “Art for you yard to Art for your lobes” with everything in between. Plus you get to wander Downtown & see what the eclectic shops and restaurants have to offer. Dogs on leashes welcome.

2. Sarasota: Sarasota Native American Indian Festival (Admission $8.00 Adults, $3.00) Friday: 9:00-5:00. Saturday: 10:00-6:00. Sunday: 10:00-5:00
